It belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, part of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.The island is 41 km (25 mi) northeast of the capital city, Port Blair.Havelock Island is named after a British generalSir Henry Havelock, who served in India. In December 2018, it was renamed as Swaraj Island as a tribute to Subhas Chandra Bose. He had subsequently named Andaman Island as Shaheed and Nicobar Island as Swaraj.

It is ranked 19th in Asia by Tripadvisor 2016 and 5th in India Cavelossim Beach is located at 15 km south of Margao, the district headquarters of South Goa. Other neighbouring beaches include Carmona Beach to the north and Mobar Beach to the south. Cavelossim Beach is a beach with white sand and black lava rocks. The beach lies in between the river Sal along the east and the Arabian sea to its west. Mandrem Beach is a white sand beach with clear water. The beach of Mandrem lies between the twin beaches of Ashwem and Arambol. This beach is a quiet and peaceful beach. The beauty of Mandrem Beach is especially during the High Tide time when the sea water rushes into the Mandrem Creek or River. This Mandrem creek moves parallel to the waterline. Mandrem has a small fishing community and occasionally one might see local fishermen hauling their catch from the sea.

5. Benaulim Beach- South Goa

Benaulim is a census town in the state of Goa, India. It is the neighbour of Colva village from the north, Margao in the northeast and Varca village from the south. During the Portuguese regime, it was one of the nine comunidades in the region of Salcete. Contemporary Benaulim is a popular seaside resort in South Goa district, renowned for its balmy weather, golden sands, and palm‑fringed beaches. It also houses Goa's only Don Bosco Animation Center. It is the birthplace of St. Joseph Vaz who was a priest and missionary in Sri Lanka.There are two popular churches in Benaulim. 10. Yarada Beach, Visakhapatnam- Andhra Pradesh

Yarada Beach is situated on the west coast of Bay of Bengal in Yarada, a village at a distance of 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Visakhapatnam. It is located near Gangavaram beach, Dolphin's Nose, and Gangavaram Port. A scientific study of the characteristics of the sediments deposited at the beach was conducted from May 2009 to May 2010. The study found that the location of Pigeon Hill has a major impact on how deposits are added to the beach and removed through erosion.

11. Arambol Beach- North Goa

Arambol is a traditional fisherman village, located approximately a 90 minutes drive from Dabolim Airport (GOI) within the Pernem administrative region of North Goa, India. 12. Dhanushkodi Beach, Ramesawaram- Tamil Nadu

Dhanushkodi Beach lies on the tip of the Rameswaram island. In this beach, the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean merge which is known as Arichal Munai in Tamil. Before 1964, Dhanushkodi was a busy city with lots of crowds. The Dhanushkodi Beach attracted thousands of tourists each day. In 1964, Dhanushkodi was hit by a cyclone and was almost destroyed by it. It is considered a ghost town, as the place became uninhabitable. Tourists still visit Dhanushkodi Beach in large numbers. The main attractions of the beach are Ram sethu view point and the Adam's Bridge, which was said to be constructed by the army of monkeys for Lord Rama according to Hindu Legend. The Dhanushkodi beach is said to be not safe for those who cannot swim as the surf is above twelve feet at certain points.

13. Palolem Beach- South Goa

Palolem Beach is situated in Canacona in southern Goa, India. The beach attracts many international tourists, mainly during the winter season between November and March. It is considered to be one of the region's most beautiful beaches. Palolem Beach is largely unspoiled and is inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign tourists who live in shacks along the shore or in the main village itself. It is about one mile (approximately 1.61 km) long and is crescent-shaped; one can view the entire beach from either end. Both ends of the beach consist of rocks jutting out into the sea. The depth of the sea increases gradually, being shallowest at the northern end of the beach, making it safe for average swimmers, and the currents are not fast.

14. Colva Beach- South Goa

Colvá is a coastal village in Salcete, south Goa, on the west coast of IndiaColva Beach stretches for around 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi), part of a beach consisting of about 25 kilometres (16 mi) of powder white sand, lined along its shore by coconut palms and extending from Bogmalo in the north to Cabo de Rama in the south.

Colvá is a famous tourist destination, visited for its beaches, budget hotels, guest houses, beach shacks, food stalls, restaurants, pubs and bars. The beaches are constantly monitored by lifeguards, and the swimming areas are flagged for warnings.

This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world in BBC article for Autos. Muzhappilangad is the only Asian beach featured in the list. Even though Goa has many beautiful beaches, it does not have a Drive-in beach. It is considered as the longest drive-in beach in Asia. The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attraction in the district of Kannur in Kerala. The youth also try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore. There is an unpaved road winding through coconut groves leading to the beach. To get to this road, if you are driving from Tellicherry towards Kannur, take the left turn just before the first railway crossing you encounter after crossing the Moidu bridge. The beach is about 5 km long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur on the north. Local laws allow beachgoers to drive for a full 4 km directly on the sands of the beach. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which also protect it from the stronger currents of the ocean. These rocks provide habitat for Blue mussel, a delicious seafood. Beach attracts bird-watchers from far off places as hundreds of birds flock here during various seasons. Approximately 100–200 m south of the beach there is a private island called Dharmadam Island (Pacha Thuruthu in Malayalam, which translates to Green Island in English). It is possible to walk to the island during low tidefrom the nearby Dharmadam beach.

21. Morjim, Pernem- North Goa

Morjim Beach is a nesting and hatching habitat of the Olive ridley sea turtle, an endangered species. They are afforded the highest degree of protection under Indian law through their inclusion in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. Egg-poaching or in any manner disturbing the turtles or their habitat is an offence punishable under Indian law.The Tourism Department of the Government of Goa has aided the conservation efforts by restricting temporary seasonal structures (e.g. shacks) to a portion of the beach and requiring them to operate only during daylight hours. Owners of the structures are also legally obliged not to leave beach furniture on the beach after daylight hours and not to do anything that would adversely affect marine turtle conservation. Despite the ban, an Indian fashion show with illumination and music was held well into the night on 10 December 2011, flouting the law and outraging environmentalists and locals.

22. Vagator Beach- Goa
